About Washington Park

Denver’s well known Washington Park neighborhood surrounds one of Denver’s finest parks – if the not the finest. 165 acres in total, Washington Park includes two lakes and the city’s largest flower garden. The park is the southernmost park in Denver’s historic parkway system – planned in 1907 to connect all of Denver’s parks by parkway avenues throughout the city’s most prestigious in town neighborhoods.

Washington Park or “Wash Park” is home to a mixed demographic, however all who are drawn to the park and its surrounding neighborhoods share a love for the outdoors, urban living and a sense of community. Among the many perks of this special neighborhood, Old South Gaylord Street, a one block “Main Street” includes boutique shops, businesses and several restaurants. Living in Wash Park is truly a lifestyle choice, offering its residents a small town atmosphere in the center of the city.

Architecturally, the neighborhood was originally a diverse mixture of styles to include Craftsman (Bungalows), Tudors, Georgians, Foursquares and Victorians – all built prior to 1940.
